PROJECT 03
In the final project, we were required to design a mini chalet, with a given location that was Taylor's campus lakeside. the space given measured 8000mm X 8000mm, this also included 3 different types of layout that we could choose from but not change. like the first and second project we were to apply all the fundamentals that we had learned from the previous project in order to design and communicate our designs through orthographic drawing. as I was not on the campus, I could not survey the site and thus used good maps to look at the proposed area. I was able to produce orthographic drawings in plan view, elevation, and section. in this project, I learned more of the fundamentals used in technicals drawing such as elevation and section symbols.
REFLECTION...
for this project I managed to include most of the basics and fundamentals of mechanical drawing I had learned from the previous project, this includes, including elevation and section drawing symbols, correct wall measurement, Drawing scale, details, and orientation. I was able to translate information to presentation drawings added labeling and annotations and tried using much architectural vocabulary as possible.
one of the biggest problems I faced was constructing the roof. this is because I have never had to construct a roof in the previous projects, this proved to be a real challenge.

PROGRESS...
For the final project, I wanted to show all the skills I had learned from all the previous projects. so I started by a look at the location of the proposed site, which was at the entrance of the lake at Taylor's campus lakeside. the site was surrounded by high rise institutional buildings. straight away I wanted to create a mini chalet that was very distinguishable from the neighboring building. something that can be almost a centerpiece at the center of the university. the brief required 1 bedroom, living area, kitchen, bathroom, and dining area.

due to the limited space, I design an open living room, kitchen, and dining area to utilize this limited space. this allowed me to add an extra room and add a balcony that faces the lake. I named the mini chalet casa luna, which translates to ''moon house '' with the balcony the inhabitant will be able to enjoy the night sky view but also go for a swim as the balcony is directly connected to the lake.
all the furniture was taken from the IKEA official website. it was fairly easy to translate the measurement of the furniture as the website included the actual measurements
