In the second project, we were required to measure a given space as a group. then individually we were to translate the measurements into scaled drawings. and this meant applying the fundamentals and basic drawing convention. as I was not on the campus. I chose a space in my home, specifically the guest room. from the measurement i was able to produce orthographic drawings in plan view, elevation, and section. in this project I learned more of the fundemantals used in technicals drawing such as elevation and section symbols.
PROJECT 02
PROGRESS...
This was meant to be a group task. but because I wasn't on the campus I had a chance to choose and measure my own space. I chose a guest room, in my house.
first, the thing I did was measure the length, width, and height of the space. this also included the furniture present in the space. I recorded the measurement. upon measuring everything found in the space I started to translate these measurements into my drawings.
on this project, I was further introduced to the methods of scaling. prior to this project, I had never really dive deeper into scaling and translating object measurements into scale.
with the help of the tutor, I was able to understand the basics of scaling objects.
in this project, I was to improve my skills reading and drawing floor plans and what floor plans must include.

REFLECTION...
Going into this project I did know the basics of mechanical drawing from the previous project. but I was able to learn more in terms of what more expected in the floor plan, elevation, and section drawing. I had trouble understanding the architectural drawing symbols such as the elevation symbol and section symbol. but toward the end, I understood what they meant on the drawing. but this is a skill that not fully attained which is why I did not include these symbols in my drawing.
another aspect of this project that initially did not understand is the line weight to symbolize the main or minor details included in the drawings. toward the end, I started understanding that all lines big all or small have an impact on the overall drawing. especially if they are going to be ready by an engineer or simply another architect. in this project I learned that it is very important to consider everything given in the space and how this three dimensional can be translated to two-dimensional drawing
